  1. European and American cities (even some Asian countries now) are two steps ahead of us in terms of street arts. I think maybe one of the reasons why street arts are so prosperous there is because their governments have looser regulations. More importantly, unlike in Hong Kong what most people would view as “damage of property”, the Europeans and Americans would actually see graffiti as a form of art! Besides, street arts in foreign countries are often more organised, as I found from this website http://www.amsterdamstreetart.com/, some French famous street artist are even invited to Amsterdam to produce their works! There are a lot the local government can do to promote street arts here in Hong Kong but sadly they have always been apathetic to local art development.

  2. I love the work that she did on the street. They are so beautiful and colourful. I always think that putting art works on the street can make our city more blissful and making our street more creative and less dull. As you mentioned that Vivian went to USA to learn painting, I think that graffiti of USA culture influence her. Besides, I think that her drawing style is quite “Asian” or quite traditional Cantonese style such as “老夫子". They don’t look like the style of western culture even she went to US to learn art. Moreover, I want to know more about the meaning of her work. It seems that there are interesting thoughts behind the two Japanese cartoon characters.

  3. The above drawings are so impressive. This kind of art works are somehow like graffiti. As she has studied in USA before,I believe that graffiti really inspires her a lot. But, what makes the drawings special is that Western and Asian culture are found. On one hand, we can see that her painting is like graffiti. On the other hand, the drawings are reflected some traditional culture. This kind of drawing is so special!
